My Story
Crafty Veteran Designs began during a season of my life when I needed something positive that was truly mine.
I am a U.S. Navy veteran, a single mom, and someone who has learned that healing does not always arrive quietly or neatly. For me, creativity became a way to slow my mind down, work through PTSD and depression, and turn difficult days into something meaningful.
At first, I was creating designs and personalized items for myself, my family, and friends during the small pockets of time I could find between work, raising my children, and their sports. What started as a creative outlet quickly became something more.
People began bringing me their own ideas. Sometimes it was a photo, a favorite saying, an inside joke, a school color, a meaningful memory, or just a rough idea they couldn’t quite picture yet. I discovered that one of my favorite parts of creating was taking those pieces and turning them into something personal they could use, display, gift, or hold onto.
The first year of Crafty Veteran Designs was filled with learning, mistakes, new equipment, late nights, vendor events, customer orders, growth, grit, and plenty of moments where I had to figure things out as I went. Because apparently small‑business ownership does not come with instructions, snacks, or a pause button.
Today, CVD is a woman veteran‑owned small business based in Wright, Wyoming. It’s built around creativity, connection, and the belief that custom products should feel personal, not mass‑produced.
Every order has a story behind it. My job is to help bring that story to life with care, heart, and a little sass.
What started as an outlet became healing. What became healing grew into purpose. And that purpose became Crafty Veteran Designs.
